Semester Projects
Attendance
Indicator Project - Every semester the Office of the University Registrar
sends lists of current MET students who have not yet settled their accounts
to the Metropolitan College Main Office. If students in your class have outstanding
balances with Boston University, you will receive a list along with instructions
on how to proceed. You must immediately respond to this by faxing, e-mailing,
or phoning the main office. If you do not receive a list, none of your current
students have an outstanding balance.
Internal
Attendance Verification - You may receive an e-mail at some
point during the semester (or after the end of the semester)
inquiring about the attendance records of a specific student
in your class. This is an internal process regarding a student
who has taken a
MET
class,
but is contesting
the payment. It is important to respond to this promptly and
accurately.
Submitting
Grades - Instructions are
available in PDF format, as well as a step-by-step
overview - both provided from the Office of the University Registrar.
Course
Evaluations - Course evaluations are an important tool for student
feedback and an invaluable help in identifying and addressing academic
and administrative problems, as well as outstanding teaching achievements.
Conducting student evaluations is part of the course delivery and assessment
process,
is as such mandatory and one of the conditions
for re-employment. Evaluations should be conducted during the final
days of class and returned
to the MET Main Office no later thanthe specified date for each semester.
MET Parnerships and Student Base
As a full or part-time faculty member you might wonder about ways
students choose your course or a MET degree. One way is through
outreach to specific employers. Click
here to view a PDF of the presentation (requires Kerberos login)
delivered by Judy Marley, MET Assistant Dean, and Julie DeCosta of
Human Resources for Verizon Wireless NE. Verizon Wireless,
through its tuition benefit administered by CAEL, takes advantage of
MET’s degree
programs as an organizational development tool. This presentation was
delivered in January 2007 at the University Continuing Education (UCEA)
Conference on Workforce Development.
