Metropolitan College Colloquia Boston University is one of the leading private research and teaching institutions in the world today. As one of BU’s 17 Schools and Colleges, Metropolitan College (MET) is an active participant in scholarly work and research. The colloquia page is a forum for MET faculty to share their innovative work in pedagogy, research, and other areas. Papers published by MET faculty undergo a critical selection process, and offer interdisciplinary engagement of critical issues in adult and distance education. We invite you to explore and enjoy the colloquia and papers posted on this page. MET Colloquia SeriesInnovation at MET Dean Halfond examined the evolution of some newer MET programs—usually developed in response to specific needs, but occasionally arising from an off-hand comment or indirectly-related issue. Ultimately, several successful programs have been serendipitous by-products of other planned endeavors. Reflecting on lessons learned, the Dean discussed principles that have allowed MET to remain nimble, and that will support continued innovation. Download the presentation... All submissions are peer-reviewed, and revisions may be required. Submissions should be of journal quality and will be published here on the Metropolitan College website. Papers that are of interest only to particular departments are not appropriate and should be submitted to the department or a journal.
