Metropolitan College takes pride in connecting motivated learners with developing opportunities in the professional realm. This was never better evidenced than when Boston University hosted the Boston launch of Developer Circles from Facebook, a community-driven initiative from the social media giant, which brought together regional coders and developers to learn, network, and knowledge-share. The free and open forum discussion was led by Nick Pinheiro (MET’09, MET’12), who earned his computer information systems master’s here at MET and is today a recognized authority on Facebook and Microsoft (Cloud) platform integration.

Information security has become a principal strategic concern of governments around the world, and with leading graduate programs in cybercrime investigation and cybersecurity offered at MET, BU has been selected to host the 11th International Conference on Cyber Warfare and Security. The conference, which unites academics, specialists, and officials from around the globe, will be held March 17-18, and chaired by MET Dean Tanya Zlateva, with Professor Virginia Greiman of the Department of Administrative Sciences serving as program chair.
Last night, MET International students Nino Karas, Natalija Najdova, and Nikola Stavrevski presented posters at the international networking event “When Culture Meets Business Opportunity,” hosted by MET International and BU’s School of Hospitality Administration. During the event—part of International Education Week, a University-wide celebration of BU’s global engagement—Karas and Stavrevski demonstrated how to start a mobile app company in Macedonia, and Stavreski and Najdova took a look at Macedonia’s new generation of computer science and engineering talents.
