2009-2010 Tuition Information

The following rates apply to fall and spring semesters only. Please refer to the Summer Term website for more information on summer term rates.

In general, Metropolitan College tuition is set according to the number of credits being taken, plus any additional fees or course costs, according to the following:

Part-time Status Tuition Rates:

To qualify for part-time status you must be an undergraduate student taking 1-12 credits or a graduate student taking 1-11.5 credits.

Tuition

  • Courses Numbered 100–599
    $350 per credit for 1–12 credits, unless otherwise noted
  • Courses Numbered 600–999
    $700 per credit 1–11.5 credits, unless otherwise noted

Fees

  • Registration Fee: $40

  • Laboratory Courses (non-computer science): $200 per course

Please note: Non-degree students who register for one or more graduate-level courses will be assessed graduate student tuition charges.

Full-time Status Tuition Rates:

To qualify for full-time status you must be an undergraduate student taking at least 12.5 credits or a graduate student taking at least 12 credits. Additional charges apply to all full-time students enrolled in more than 18 credits.

  • $18,955 per semester
    (additional charge of $1,184 per credit in excess of 18 credits)

    • Graduate Application Fee: $70

    $265 per semester
  • Graduate Student George Sherman Union Fee:
    $95 per semester
  • Graduate Student Health Fee:
    $98 per semester

Medical Insurance

Massachusetts law requires all students carrying at least 75 percent of the full time curriculum to be covered under a qualifying medical insurance plan. If the student does not wish to participate in the Boston University Medical Insurance Plan, he or she must annually file a Medical Insurance Waiver form that certifies coverage under a comparable medical insurance plan.
