Business Continuity, Security and Risk Management

Overview

The Master of Science in Management (MSM) specialization in Business Continuity, Security and Risk Management combines specific training in crisis management and enterprise continuity with a thorough understanding of general business and management principles. Designed to provide business managers and public employees with the skills they need to formulate and execute the best possible response to a wide range of emergencies and disasters.

In addition to the operations, financial, marketing, and project management concerns of all high-level managers, students who earn the specialization in Business Continuity, Security and Risk Management will master:

  • Preparedness planning
  • Risk assessment and mitigation
  • The interface between private and public response
  • The human, technological, and logistical factors of crisis recovery
  • The components of a system-wide continuity plan

Requirements: Students must complete the six MSM core courses in addition to the four Business Continuity, Security and Risk Management specialization courses and two Adiminstrative Sciences graduate-level courses, chosen with the advice of the Administrative Sciences Department coordinator.
