Online Degree Programs for UTC Employees

Online Formats for Graduate and Undergraduate Degrees
at Boston University’s Metropolitan College

A total of six online educational opportunities are available to United Technologies Corporation (UTC) employees, as part of the Employee Scholar Program. These online courses allow UTC Scholars outside of the greater Boston area to take advantage of Boston University’s excellent academic reputation via a convenient distance learning format. Online courses are offered three semesters per year (fall, spring, summer) with 2 courses available each semester. The two courses run consecutively, with a new course beginning every seven weeks.

The Online Undergraduate Degree Completion Program is a 16-course program designed for highly motivated individuals who have completed approximately half of their undergraduate work and seek to finish their bachelor's degree.

The online Graduate Certificate in Project Management is designed for those who want to combine graduate level theory with the skills needed to earn PMP® project management competencies.

The online Master of Science in Project Management provides business leaders with the expertise required to formulate and execute the best possible response to projects, communications, and risk management. The Master of Science in Project Management is ALSO designed for those who want to combine graduate level theory with the skills needed to earn PMP® project management competencies.

The online MSM specialization in Banking and Financial Services Management prepares students for success in the fast-paced, dynamic financial sector by combining a solid foundation in general management practices with expertise in corporate finance, global markets, and the financial services industry.

The online Master of Science in Computer Information Systems offers two concentrations: Security, and Database Management and Business Intelligence—the fastest growing and highest paid segments of the IT job market. Students in both tracks learn from expert faculty who are also industry leaders at building networks, developing applications, and fighting cyber terrorism for the world’s top companies.

The online MSM specialization in Business Continuity, Security and Risk Management is designed to provide business managers and public employees with the skills they need to formulate and execute the best possible response to a wide range of emergencies and disasters. The curriculum combines specific training in crisis management and enterprise continuity with a thorough understanding of general business and management principles.

The MSM specialization in International Marketing Management is a unique opportunity for those who have earned the graduate diploma to combine a mastery of general management principles in accounting, finance, operations and leadership with expertise in global marketing strategies.

The online Master of Criminal Justice is designed for working professionals in law enforcement and other related areas who seek distinction by blending practical experience with scholarly achievement. Students are taught by leading criminal justice experts with extensive professional experience as law enforcement officers, corrections experts, attorneys and investigators.

The online Master of Science in Health Communication teachers students to understand the complexities of important healthcare issues and communicate them in a way both the media and the public can understand. Open to students of any major, the program curriculum focuses on how to implement effective communication campaigns, tackel tough health care issues and provide valuable information to the media, the public and other critical stakeholders. Students in the MSHC program will gain a comprehensive education in the areas of public relations, healthcare marketing and interactive marketing communications.
