  1. Can international students attend Metropolitan College?

    International students are welcome at Metropolitan College, and constitute a significant portion of the student population in a number of programs. To take courses or to gain admission to a degree program, international students need to follow some specific guidelines. To apply for an undergraduate degree program, international students must apply through the Boston University Office of International Admissions (IA). To apply to a graduate degree program, international students should apply directly to the department or program. For visa information and additional application requirements, please contact the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO).

  2. If I am an international student do I have to attend school full time?

    Yes. All international students are required by law to attend school full time with the exception of your final semester, when you may attend part time if needed.

  3. How do I apply for an undergraduate degree program?

    All undergraduate international applicants must contact the Boston University Office of Undergraduate Student Services. This office coordinates the application process for all international students at Boston University. Please contact an international student advisor at 617-353-4492 or intadmis@bu.edu in order to discuss your eligibility for application.

  4. How do I apply for a graduate program?

    International students may apply to graduate programs directly through the academic department to which they seek admission. However, applicants should contact the International Student and Scholar Office for additional requirements and visa arrangements, and should allow for additional processing time. International applicants are required to submit the following documentation:

    1. Score from Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
    2. International Student Data Form.
    3. Authorized financial statement from a bank (original, shown in U.S. dollars).
    4. Copy of current I-20 and I-94, both sides (if applicable).
    5. Letter of financial support from sponsor (firm, government, parents, etc.).
    6. Notarized English translations of all documents not in English.
      In certain cases, the Admissions Committee may request an applicant to submit official scores from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT).
