Telecommunication Graduate Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in Telecommunication provides the knowledge and critical skills required by the rapidly expanding field of modern telecommunication. Two core courses provide fundamental technical knowledge about data communications and telecommunication, as well as an understanding of the industry itself. Students can then choose to focus on the technical or business side of the field.

Transfer of Credits to Degree Programs

Academic credits earned toward the Graduate Certificate in Telecommunication may be applicable to a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Telecommunication. Please contact us for details.

Requirements

A total of 16 credits are required.

Prerequisites

Applicants to the program are required to have a bachelor’s degree, programming experience equivalent to MET CS 231 or MET CS 232, and MET CS 250 or MET CS 534.

Curriculum

16 required credits:

  • MET CS 535 Data Communications and Computer Networks
  • MET CS 680 Business Structure and Strategy in the Telecommunication Industry

Any two of the following:

  • MET AD 742 Program and Project Management
  • MET AD 746 Legal and Regulatory Issues in High-Tech and Biotech Industries
  • MET CS 575 Operating Systems
  • MET CS 650 Technical Foundations of Telecommunication
