Information Security Technology Graduate Certificate (on-campus and online)

Information security has become a primary concern for industry, government, and individuals. Assuring the security of information resources and infrastructure is a must for reliable business practices, sustaining an effective national defense, and maintaining individual privacy rights. The Graduate Certificate in Information Security Technology provides students with in-depth knowledge of the security risks in computer networks and software applications, and the available methods, techniques, and practices for protecting information, in particular the methodologies for designing and implementing secure systems. This program is of special interest to software engineers, application programmers, and database and enterprise system developers.

Transfer of Credits to Degree Programs

Academic credits earned toward the Graduate Certificate in Information Security Technology may be applicable to a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Telecommunication. Please contact us for details.

Requirements

A total of 16 credits are required.

Prerequisites

Applicants to the program are required to have a bachelor’s degree and Java programming experience equivalent to MET CS 232 Introduction to Computer Science with Java, and have completed MET CS 248 Discrete Mathematics.
