Database Security Graduate Certificate

Databases and database security are critical for the working of any organization. However, in today’s world, databases and other data repositories are vulnerable to various kinds of attacks, including unauthorized access, corruption of data, and loss of data. The goal of this certificate program is to help students learn about such threats, and the various techniques to guard against them.

The Database Security program focuses on how to secure databases, while providing students with a hands-on examination of the security features provided by Oracle and other DBMS. Apart from earning how databases are used in business and security policies, students will also learn some advanced concepts in database design and management. Students will have an option of learning a broad range of state-of-the art advanced database management technology in CS 779, or studying database administration in CS 579.
