Assistant Professor Dr. Canan Gunes CorluAssistant Professor of Administrative Sciences

PhD, MS, Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University
BS, Koc University

Dr. Corlu’s research interests lie in the areas of the design and analysis of large-scale stochastic simulations with applications to inventory management, and the application of Operations Management techniques to the logistics problems that arise in the non-profit sector. She has published in a variety of journals including the two leading journals of the field, Operations Research and Surveys in Operations Research and Management Science. She has presented her work internationally and serves as a reviewer for the journals Annals of Operations Research and Mathematics of Operations Research. Prior to joining MET, Corlu was a faculty member at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, where she taught courses in simulation, quality assurance and reliability, and service systems. At MET, she teaches courses in supply chain management and innovation/new product development.

Research Interests

  • The design and analysis of stochastic simulations with applications to inventory management
  • Application of operations research and operations management techniques to the problems of non-profit organizations (humanitarian logistics)
  • Bayesian statistics (data analysis, parameter estimation)

Courses

  • MET AD 680 – Global Service Sector and Supply Chain Management
