Blended Learning at MET
Experience the Best of Two Worlds with the Blended Format.
In addition to the 100% online and 100% on-campus formats, Metropolitan College offers a blended format option for several MET programs.
The blended program embraces the traditional values of face-to-face teaching while integrating the best practices of online learning. It is designed specifically for busy professionals who want to attend classes on campus, but also need additional flexibility to accommodate their work schedule and other commitments. Over the length of a semester, students in blended courses have several on campus class meetings and experience ongoing, online student-to-student and student-to-faculty collaboration.
The convenience and accessibility of online learning, combined with classroom instruction and personal interaction with world-class faculty and fellow students, provides a well-rounded academic experience. You will gain advanced technical and business skills while attending on-campus lectures and seminars, having continuous access to comprehensive and well organized online course materials, using the latest online collaboration technologies, and sharing your newly acquired knowledge, experience, and opinions on discussion boards. Depending on the course, your on-campus sessions may include group projects and lab exercises to further cement your hands-on skills and business competencies.
Students taking blended courses experience the rich atmosphere of the Boston University campus. You’ll have ease of access to the numerous academic, athletic, and cultural resources found at BU, from working on assignments in computer labs, to attending a speaking engagement with an industry leader.
Blended programs offer the best of two worlds. Face-to-face sessions give you the opportunity to interact on a personal level with your professors, collaborate with other students from around the world, and take advantage of everything the Boston University campus has to offer. The online instruction is rigorous, yet provides the flexibility to complete your degree while balancing work, family, and other commitments.
Blended courses may include all or some of the following features:
