Overnight Accommodations:
Getting Around

Back to Housing Registration

Boston University is located in the heart of a vibrant city. With all the hustle and bustle, it’s important to know all the tips and tricks for getting around the city. Luckily, we know a thing or two about navigating. Check out our resources for parking, public transpiration, as well as maps and schedules to keep you moving. Tour our location.

Summer Conference Guests

Due to Boston University’s urban setting, street parking is limited. We encourage visitors to take public transportation as much as possible. Should your travel needs require parking, select university lots are available for daily or overnight guest parking. Please refer to your program’s housing packages for more information about parking availability and rates.

Boston University Maps is a fully up-to-date, Google Maps-enabled online resource for all buildings, parking lots, and locations on campus. Search for specific places, or just look around. This service is also mobile-ready, so you’ll always know where you are and where you’re going.

Printable campus maps are available in PDF format and paper copies are available upon request from Events & Conferences and other on-campus departments.

An accessible campus map, provided through the BU Maps system, directs you to accessible parking, curb cuts, and other useful information. It is also constantly updated to reflect the urban and ever-changing nature of the Boston University campus.

The Boston University Shuttle is free to use for conference guests with proper Conference ID. Track the Shuttle live or refer to the summer schedule for a full list of stop times.

You can quickly and easily hop on a Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) bus or a train from campus to various places in the city and beyond. The Green Line, B train makes it easy to get anywhere you need to be on campus. Check the MBTA site for maps and schedules and learn more about where to pick up a Charlie Card or Ticket (you can always pay with cash on above-ground stops!)

No one knows the city like those who live here. We recommend checking out and downloading Uber for reliable transportation anywhere within the city and along the shore.

Boston has a multitude of taxi and car services ready to get you wherever you need to go. Cabs are easily hailed along Commonwealth Avenue and can be called directly to any on-campus residence. Some of our favorites are Metro Cab (617-782-5500), Boston Cab (617-536-5010), and Town Taxi (617-536-5000).
