Broadcast Production Package & Crew
Our Betacam shooting package includes: Ikegami HL V-55 camera, Sachtler 20 tripod, Schoeps, Vega or Lectrosonics audio package, Arri portable light kit, Sony Hi-res. monitor and all necessary accoutrements. Working with the best equipment, our professional production crews: light and shoot first-rate interviews, document lectures and events, cover exciting sports matches and theatrical performances...and produce beautiful video. Our multi-camera field production package is also available for programs with more sophisticated production values.

On-Line and Off-Line Non-Linear Editing
Our new Avid edit system offers flexibility and functionality that is simply not available in a traditional, analog edit suite. The unparalleled speed and flexibility of the Avid enables us to produce more creative programs with greater efficiency. Multiple versions of stories can be created quickly and easily. And because digital editing is faster, producers and editors have time to make stories more interesting and compelling. Our Avid MC9000 system includes: 1:1 uncompressed picture quality, 180 GB storage, Real-Time 3D Effects, Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.

Webcasting
Webcasts are collaborative efforts between BU Productions and Networked Information Services that allow a program or event to be broadcast live on the Internet. We provide the audio and video signals to the Information Technology staff, who encode the picture and sound with their lap top computer. The encoded video stream travels from the encoding station through the data port and over the campus network to the RealServer. Anyone with a computer connected to the Internet, a Web browser and the free RealPlayer G2 software can log on to your event.

The videotaping can be done with a traditional broadcast-quality equipment package or with our new Canon XL-1 camera. This prosumer digital camera provides professional quality at more affordable rates. If a live webcast is unnecessary, your program or event could be recorded, then encoded for viewing on the Web at a later date. We can also shoot digital or analog video clips to visually enhance your website.

On-Line Broadcast Editing (Analog)
Our inter-format edit suite (Beta SP, 1" and 3/4" tape formats) located at the Tsai Performance Center, affords clients easy access to high-quality, creative video editing. Our talented editors have experience with documentaries, commercials, multi-camera events and standard archival recordings. They will guide you through the post-production process and devise inventive ways to promote a program, sell a product, convey an image or tell a story.

VHS Editing
Here at BU Productions, we have a VHS/S-VHS edit suite to accommodate your basic editing needs. Our staff editors help faculty prepare video material for instructional purposes and assist students with videos for class projects. We can create titles and credits with our character generator and incorporate music and voice-over into a presentation. Copyright restrictions do apply.

Video Duplication
We offer duplication from most broadcast and consumer-level formats (1", Beta SP, 3/4" and VHS), as well as videotape-to-audio cassette duplication. All prices include tape stock, case and label. Arrangements can be made to handle other formats or foreign standard dubs.
