Issue Report Date: 09-07-01
Topic: Laptop Interface with LCD/DLP Projectors

Technical Operations has determined that there are occasional problems interfacing various laptop computers with LCD/DLP projectors. The problem presented includes undesirable images, incorrectly sized images, image flicker etc. The problem lies within the laptop computer.

All laptops have the ability to allow the user to view both the laptop display as well as the projected display simultaneously. Unfortunately, the laptop's video card(s) are unable to output both images with clarity.

Solution:
Toggle the laptop display off. Toggle laptop output to only the classroom projection system. If you need assistance with this, please contact Technical Operations at (617) 353-4882.

Issue Report Date: 01-29-02
Topic: Projects Not Displaying Computer Video

Technical Operations, as a result of a service call, has determined that individuals are reconfiguring software setup menus on various projectors. These particular incidents were related to the projectors in CAS222 and CAS326. Intentional reconfiguration of the projector's operating software can result in loss of computer video signal generation.

This type of projector is configured (from the factory) to auto select the correct input source. Sources include computer, SVideo, video and network. All that is required from the user is to connect the source device and push the INPUT button on the remote. The projector will search and display the source connected to it automatically.

Solution:
Do not attempt to make adjustments to the projector's internal software via any menus. Please use the method indicated in the paragraph above. If you are still having problems, please contact Classroom Support Services at (617) 353-3227.
