Research Interests

Micro/Nano/Bio/Manufacturing: Fabrication and application of micro/nano/multi-scale functional particles/ structures/ parts utilizing the bio-prototype as templates; manipulate and bond the diverse diatom frustules onto the wafer/glass substrate to fabricate microfluidic chips and biosensors, to fabricate bio-inspired multi-scale functional structures or composites.

Jun’s research interests involve using bio-prototype as templates to fabricate complex micro/nano/multi-scale particles/ structures/ parts that hard to fabricate in mass by other microfabrication method, such as to deposite functional coatings onto the inner/outer surface of microorganism cells with different stand shapes to fabricate micro electrical conductive particles or magnetic particles with different film-deposition technique (electroless deposition/ electroplating/ thermal decomposition/Sol-gel method, et al); to manipulate and bond the diverse diatom frustules onto the wafer/glass substrate to fabricate microfluidic chips and biosensors, to fabricate bio-inspired multi-scale functional structures or composites. The goal is to achieve more valuable functional materials, sensors and apparatus.
