Mechanics, Dynamics and Control Lab

lab-113Professor Isaacson

110 Cummington Street, Rm. ENG 113

The Mechanics, Dynamics, and Control Laboratory serves introductory and advanced courses in mechanics and controls, including EK 301 Engineering Mechanics I, ME 403 Atmospheric Flight Mechanics and Control, and ME 404 Dynamics and Control of Mechanical Systems.

The laboratory contains the following equipment:

  • Multiple testing apparatuses for determining the buckling strength of soda straws and the failure strength of 2-D trusses composed of soda straws used for the design project in EK 301.
  • A three degree-of-freedom tethered airfoil apparatus used for experiments related to automatic feedback control in ME 403 and ME 404.
  • Multiple motor controller apparatuses used for experiments related to automatic feedback control of electric motors used in ME 404.
