Program Planning Sheet

Our new combined Program Planning Sheet will help guide your selection of coursework for the MS option you have chosen to pursue. The Program Planning Sheet covers all the concentrations available under the Master of Science Degree in the Department of Manufacturing Engineering. Courses available through Distance Learning are highlighted in blue. Currently Four of these can be taken entirely though Distance Learning:
- Sensors and Instruments
- Global Product Development
- Lean Supply Chain Design
- Micro/Nano Technology
On the Program Planning Sheet, courses are distributed among four curricular sub-elements:
- Master’s Core
- Concentration Area
- Electives
- Capstone
A maximum of two courses below the 500-level will be allowed for the degree.
If you have any questions about the use or organization of your Program planning sheet, Please contact Andrew Abrahamson by phone (617/358-1294) by email at andrewa@bu.edu.
Students in the MS program in Manufacturing Engineering focus their coursework in one of the concentration areas. Each consists of 36 credit hours (typically nine courses), of which no less than 28 credits must be earned at Boston University and at least 20 credits are from technically oriented engineering courses. A cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 (B) is required for all courses taken at Boston University and for all courses offered for the degree.
For detailed course information see the Courses page.
