The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Boston University seeks applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track, teaching faculty position at the level of Associate Professor of the Practice beginning Fall 2012. In addition to a relevant, earned Ph.D. and 3-5 years industry experience, qualified candidates will have a demonstrable ability to teach effectively in the general area of design with emphasis on CAD and product design. In addition, the candidate is expected to assume a leadership role in the department’s senior Capstone design experience and serve as a liaison between senior design groups and interested parties in industry. Documentation that allows assessment of previous performance, such as teaching evaluations, is highly desired.

The ME Department has over 400 undergraduate students pursuing the B.S. degree, with optional “Concentrations” in Aerospace Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering.
