The Marsh Plaza renovation project involved the removal of Marsh Plaza's
blue stone and concrete base, after which a new reinforced concrete base
was installed. On top of the new base, 24" x 24" granite pavers
were set in a latex mortar bed.
Lighted granite bollards were installed between the sidewalk and the
plaza, preventing vehicles from driving up onto the plaza.
The existing sidewalk was replaced by a new brick sidewalk, along with
landscaping improvements. The covered arcades at the east and west wings
of Marsh Chapel received new granite pavers.
The University Coat of Arms was reset and the sculpture "Free at
Last" was sealed to stop rust-producing oxidation.
