Boston University Study Abroad provides health insurance for all program participants through GeoBlue. You are eligible for Global Health and Safety Services, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

International SOS
International SOS is a 24-hour medical assistance company that students have in addition to GeoBlue.
This service gives students access to travel alerts, country entry requirements, medical assistance while traveling and mental health services.

The doctors and health units shown below have been used by students in the past and are some of the entities that accept GeoBlue coverage. If you need an appointment, identify yourself as a BU student with GeoBlue coverage and take your insurance card with you to the appointment.

If you need immediate medical attention, go to one of these 3 hospitals for quick service, prioritizing students. They can even arrange a taxi from your homestay, covered by your insurance, or schedule an at-home doctor visit. Just call or email them and state that you are a BU student with GeoBlue. If you have trouble reaching them, contact your Student Life Coordinator for assistance. Your health matters, so seek help when needed.

MindPlace and Sinews, both Multilingual Therapy Institutes, are our trusted therapy centers for students, offering a full range of mental health services, including psychology/counseling, psychiatry, and more.
