Language and Liberal Arts Program
Level I: Intensive Spanish Language Studies (Intermediate level: M1B, M1C, M1D)
Level II: Advanced Language and University Studies (Proficiency in the Spanish language)
Level III: Honors Program (Direct university enrollment program for students with exceptional Spanish-language skills at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid)
This program is offered for those students who are looking to enhance their Spanish language skills while working abroad in one of Europe’s most important vibrant commercial centers. Students with sufficient language skills take three courses along with an internship, which ranges between 15 and 20 hours per week.
All students enroll in three, four-credit courses chosen from those offered through Level II or III of the Madrid Language and Liberal Arts Program (based on Language proficiency and GPA).
Management Internship Program
Boston University, in conjunction with the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, offers a one-semester Madrid Management Internship Program. The program consists of two management courses, a Contemporary Spanish Culture course, and an internship for credit. Students enroll directly in the Autónoma and have access to its facilities and services.
Madrid Engineering Program
Students of Engineering can take advantage of one of our newest programs, which combines engineering coursework with an international environment and perspective. Classes are taught in English at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and the International Institute, so no prior language study is required. Some engineering courses will have pre-requisites though, so ideally students will have completed three semesters of university studies before entering the Madrid program. Upon successful completion of the semester, students will receive 16 Boston University credits.
