Profile

Carlos Vela is an instructor of Film and Art History at Boston University – Madrid and other American programs in the city. He has also held university management positions in the past, including the presidency of APUNE (Association of North American University Programs in Spain). Vela has published texts in various conferences and professional magazines, in addition to writing two books on Salvador Dalí and Luis Buñuel. The latest book he has published is titled Detectives melancólicos. El cine de Alberto Rodríguez en el contexto del neo noir actual. His research is inspired, above all, by intermediality, by different schools of psychoanalytic orientation and critical theory.
