ALSC Volunteer Opportunities
The Association offers many volunteer opportunities.
Leadership Positions
Each year, in the winter issue of the Literary Matters, the Nominations Committee of the Executive Council presents to the general membership the names of its nominees for Council and Council Vice President.
In the spring, if no objections have been raised and if no alternate candidates are identified by the membership, these nominees are appointed, along with appointees for the ALSC's various subcommittees. (Appointments are announced in the spring issue of the Literary Matters.)
If you have suggestions for any of these positions, or would like to be considered for one of them yourself, please submit a petition to that effect, signed by 15 members of the ALSC in good standing. Petitions should be sent to the attention of the Nominations Committee at 650 Beacon Street, Suite 510, Boston, MA 02215.
Suggesting New ALSC Initiatives
We welcome and encourage your ideas for new Forum topics, and other programs and initiatives. Please send your ideas and proposals to the attention of the Executive Director at alsc@bu.edu. And please be prepared to help us implement your ideas. Volunteer energy is crucial to the programming of any non-profit organization.
Pitch in at the Boston Office
Like most non-profits, ALSC has a tiny staff made up of paid and unpaid workers. Won't you help us get our important work done? Inquire at alsc@bu.edu.

Are you planning to attend the ALSC Conference this year in Denver (October 9-11)? Would you like to attend without paying the registration fee? Do you like free meals and entertainment?
