III. RENEWAL PROTOCOL AND GENERAL MEMBERSHIP POLICIES:

ALL MEMBERSHIPS

MEMBERSHIP YEAR

  1. The ALSC membership year is based on the calendar year (January-December). When you join as a new member, ALSC will send you all ALSC publications for the year up to your joining date, and continue your subscriptions on a regular basis for the remainder of the membership year.

  2. Dues may be paid at any time during the calendar year, but early renewals allow us to budget our resources more effectively; please renew your dues early in the year or request the automatic renewal option.

PRIVACY POLICIES AND RECOGNITION OF YOUR SUPPORT

  1. All new members are recognized in the "Welcoming Our New Members" feature of the quarterly Literary Matters.

  2. Premium Members and all members who contribute donations beyond the payment of their dues are accorded a special place of honor on the ALSC Website and in the Association's quarterly and annual fundraising reports. Donor anonymity is maintained upon written request. All such requests should be sent to the attention of the Executive Director at 650 Beacon Street, Suite 510, Boston, MA 02215, or to alsc@bu.edu.

  3. All members are listed in the password-protected member directory on the ALSC Website. Only names and institutional affiliations are listed in the member directory. Contact information requests received by the ALSC office are forwarded to members for approval. All such requests should be sent to the attention of the Executive Director at 650 Beacon Street, Suite 510, Boston, MA 02215, or to alsc@bu.edu.

  4. The ALSC reserves the right to sell or rent its membership list to organizations with goals and interests which are determined by the Executive Council to be consistent with the mission of the ALSC. The ALSC honors all written requests for exclusion from its saleable membership list. All such requests should be sent to the attention of the Executive Director at 650 Beacon Street, Suite 510, Boston, MA 02215, or to alsc@bu.edu.
