Note: The linguistics major requires 8 linguistics courses plus 4 foreign language courses at or above the 3rd semester level, to include at least two different languages (any of the languages listed above would count towards this requirement). There are also joint majors combining Linguistics with French, Spanish, Italian, or Japanese. It is also possible to combine a major or minor in a foreign language/literature/culture with a major or minor in Linguistics.
