Computers

The Reference Area currently has two computer (PC) clusters:

IT cluster are for BU students, staff and faculty only. They require a user name and password, and provide internet access as well as access to networked software such as Microsoft Word. Printing from this cluster is charged against your free print quota. This is an IT installation; questions regarding equipment, printing or software should be directed to IT 617-353-7272.

The pc network clusters are available for general Internet use. Word processing is not available on these computers. Printing is available at $.10/page, with a copy card.

A wireless network is available to BU students using laptops. You will need:

  • A PCMCIA access card
  • Virtual Private Network (VPN) software.
