Boston Library Consortium (BLC) card
A Boston Library Consortium Card allows the bearer to borrow – in person – circulating material from a member library, just as you would from a BU library. (A Consortium Card is not needed to use another library’s collection in-house. You would not need a card for access to journals in most cases, for example.)
Boston University faculty, staff, and graduate students on the Charles River Campus, in good standing (owing under $10.00 to Boston University libraries), may obtain a Consortium Card by filling out an application form (see below). Medical Campus affiliates apply at the Alumni Medical Library.
Per Consortium agreement guidelines, Boston University undergraduate students must demonstrate a research need to be eligible for a Consortium card.
Your Consortium Card will be available for pickup at the Mugar Memorial Library Circulation desk three business days after the application form is submitted. You will receive an email notification when the card is ready for you. Please bring a picture ID with you. Cards must be re-validated (at the Circulation desk) each semester of the academic year.
