Climate Change 2013: the Physical Science Basis

October 4th, 2013

in Pickering Educational Resources Library

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has released a major report in draft form, entitled Climate Change 2013: the Physical Science Basis, detailing the human influence on climate change. The IPCC is a group of scientists working under the auspices of the United Nations, and more than 600 authors contributed to this report.

A Summary for Policy Makers is also now available along with the full last draft of the report, which still must be edited, formatted, and pass through a final check for errors. The completed document is expected to be published online in January 2014, with a print book by Cambridge University Press to follow.  Two other working groups of scientists are creating drafts as well, and when complete these three reports will comprise the IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report on Climate Change.

The Summary for Policy Makers from Working Group 1 is also now available in print form in the Sustainability Resources Center within the Pickering Library. A page with a description and link to the full draft of Climate Change 2013: the Physical Science Basis is included.
