Royal Society journal archive is now FREE!
In honor of Open Access Week last week, the Royal Society has opened up their journal archive for free public access – permanently. The Royal Society – more fully called the Royal Society of London for Improving Natural Knowledge – is the oldest scientific publisher in the the world, and its online archive includes the complete backfiles of Philosophical Transactions, the world’s oldest peer-reviewed scientific journal, established in 1665.
In the archive you’ll find scientific papers written by Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, and other scientific greats, as well as items of more general interest, such as the fascinating "A Letter of Benjamin Franklin, Esq.; to Mr. Peter Collinson, F.R.S. concerning an Electrical Kite"
So head over to the Royal Society’s homepage to read the full announcement and browse through a slice of scientific history.
