in Music Library

Our audio streaming subscription packages have each expanded.

The Naxos Music Library now exceeds 700,000 tracks. It’s a particularly good resources for Classical music of all eras, and has notable contemporary world and jazz holdings.

Meanwhile, Alexander Press’s Music Online package has a new and welcome category: Popular Music. Jazz holdings (including BlueNote and Concord labels) arrived last year, and now comes some rap, reggae and hip-hop with artists ranging from The Shirelles to Wu-Tang Clan.

The Music Online link above can cross-search these popular holdings together with Alexander Press’s Smithsonian Global Sound, Classical, Contemporary World, Jazz, and American packages. Please allow a few seconds for your search to process in this large database. Alexander also offers an interesting blog including free downloads.

Finally, the library’s physical holdings on vinyl and audio compact disc remain extensive and are not necessarily duplicated by online subscriptions. Use the library catalog when you search for these.
