Welcome

We offer extensive collection resources, and traditional library and digital services. We provide course content support as well as work to meet the research needs of Boston University’s current students, faculty and staff.

Our collections are also open to area and visiting researchers for on-site use.

Located on the second floor of the Mugar Memorial Library (1966), Music's collections of books, scores, current periodicals and open reserves, are readily accessible and easy to browse during the Mugar building hours. Recordings, reference help, class reserves in physical format, as well as all items designated music storage or 'inquire at music library,' are available during staff and listening room hours.

Area Boston University alumni are encouraged to keep their library card current, and we invite our Distance Education affiliates to check Music DE advisories (or, from the music library home page, see at lower right).

All borrowers are encouraged to establish a PIN and keep their library account updated with appropriate contact information. You'll then be able to view your account, perform online renewal, and receive advance notice of dates for items due for return.

Our music library graduate student staff, undergraduate student staff and permanent staff will gladly cover additional logistics and essentials in orientations lasting about twenty minutes. The head and and assistant head are welcome the opportunity to collaborate on more extended work with classes as well asn individuals.

Finally, we thank our friends and donors; please drop by when you are next in the area.
