A complete description of all interlibrary borrowing programs currently in use may be found on the main Interlibrary Borrowing page.
This service has been updated. You will still have access to the WorldCat Local interface to search for, identify, and request books. Now, instead of making some of your requests through WCL and some through Interlibrary Loan, you can make them all through the ILLiad Interlibrary Loan request form. Items available from consortium libraries will continue to be available within just 1-2 business days from the time you request them.
If you have never used our Interlibrary Loan service before, you will get a one-time form to fill out. After completing that initial form, you will be able to place requests quickly, through our ILLiad interface, much as you were able to do through the WCL interface in the past. The status of your requests will be available for you to review in ILLiad as well.
Terrier Card Borrowing
You may borrow books from Boston College, Brandeis University, and Northeastern University with your Boston University ID (Terrier card), just as you would in Boston University Libraries.
A Boston Library Consortium Card allows the bearer to borrow—in person—circulating material from a BLC member library, just as you would from a BU library. Boston University faculty, staff, and students on the Charles River Campus may obtain a Consortium Card by filling out an application form.
Current BU students, faculty, and staff can use our Interlibrary Borrowing service to get journal articles and books not available on the Charles River Campus. Requests may be submitted using online forms.
