Comparing Index Performance:

To compare the performance of up to three indexes press the yellow F10 [INDEX] key followed by COMP and [GO]. On the template that appears use the [TAB] key to enter the codes of the indexes you wish to compare. Press [GO] and a graph and table showing comparative returns/yields will appear.

Close/Price Data:

To find historic price data use the following syntax: Index code followed by F10 [INDEX] HP [GO]. To find the Standard and Poor's 500's closing prices, for example, you would type SPX [INDEX] HP [GO].

Total Return Analysis:

The total return analysis provides the following information for any chosen index; price, dividends, price appreciation and total return/yield. To run a total return analysis use the following syntax: Index Code [INDEX] TRA [GO]. To run a total return analysis on the S&P Small Cap Index, for example, you would type: SML [INDEX] TRA [GO].

Index Descriptions:

To get a description of any index, including the list of stocks that make up the index, type the index code [INDEX] DES [GO]. For example, NYA [INDEX] DES [GO].
