Find a Company Overview:

Datamonitor Company Profiles through Business Source Complete [About]

General Business File ASAP [About]

Hoover's Company Records through LexisNexis Academic [About]

Factiva [About] - To obtain a company snapshot, click on Companies/Markets, click on Company and then type the company name in the search box.

Mergent Online [About] Works best with Internet Explorer.

 

Find Company Financials and SEC Filings

Mergent Online [About]. Type in the company name in the search box and click on the search button ... Works best with Internet Explorer.

Company Financials - Click on the Company Financials tab to obtain up to 15 years of financial statements.  

SEC Filings - Click on the EDGAR tab.

Competitors' Financial Information - Click on the Competitors tab. Create a competitor report.

Segments - Click on the Company Financials tab, Click on Segments to find Business Analysis by revenues, operating income and Geographic Analysis.

Overview Reports - Click on the Create Reports tab, then select PRE-DEFINED REPORTS.  

Company Comparisons - Click on the Create Reports tab and then click on Comparison Reports and select either COMPARE COMPANY AGAINST INDUSTRY or COMPARE COMPANY AGAINST CUSTOM GROUP.   
 

The EDGAR database (http://www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml) available on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) website contains annual report (10-K) filings and other financial filings.

Find Company Stock Information

Mergent Online [About]. Works best with Internet Explorer. Type in the company name in the search box and click on the search button and for stock information, click on the Equity Pricing tab.

Factiva [About] Click on Companies/Markets and type the stock ticker symbol in the Get Quote search box to obtain stock price information and a chart of the stock prices.  There is also a ticker symbol lookup feature.  

Yahoo! Finance website (http://finance.yahoo.com/). Type the company name into the Get Quotes search box and then click on the search button.  Look under quotes for stock price information.

Value Line Investment Survey (Available at the Reference Desk) - Contains one page summaries of company stock information.

Locate an Industry Survey

Get an overview of how an industry operates, the trends, and more. The most notable industry surveys are the S&P Industry Surveys, which are available at the Reference desk, 3rd floor of Pardee.

Go to: the Industry Survey Locator - A database of industry surveys that appear in databases and other reference materials. A good first place to check for industry surveys and overviews.

Locate an Analyst Report on an Industry

General Business File [About]-Click on Search Investment Reports by Ticker Symbol to access analyst reports for a company.  The results list will also include related industry analyst reports.


Find a SIC/NAICS code for a particular industry

Mergent Online - Select the green Business tab to find the SIC/NAICS code for the industry your company is in. The primary and secondary codes are given.
