The Boston Public Library has the largest patent collection in New England. This collection is housed in the Government Documents Department. The collection includes US patents from 1790 to the present, British patents from 1617 to 1994, and German patents from l877 to 1938, as well as patent and trademark journals. All of the research materials needed to search U.S. patents and trademarks are available.
