Boston Library Consortium (BLC) card

A Boston Library Consortium Card allows the bearer to borrow - in person - circulating material from a member library, just as you would from a BU library. (A Consortium Card is not needed to use another library's collection in-house. You would not need a card for access to journals in most cases, for example.)

Boston University faculty, staff, and graduate students on the Charles River Campus, in good standing (owing under $10.00 to Boston University libraries), may obtain a Consortium Card by filling out an application form (see links below). Medical Campus affiliates apply at the Alumni Medical Library.

Per Consortium agreement guidelines, Boston University undergraduate students must demonstrate a research need to be eligible for a Consortium card.

Your Consortium Card will be available for pickup at the Mugar Memorial Library Circulation desk three business days after the application form is submitted. Please bring a picture ID with you. Cards must be revalidated (at the Circulation desk) each semester of the academic year.

The 19 Consortium libraries are:

Boston College
Boston Public Library
