You must have a user name and Kerberos password (usually issued
within the first week of enrolling). You need this for EZproxy
to work (popping up a BU login window for subscription items).
I'm using the database, but the article isn't full text
- what are my options?
Most
of our databases provide a combination of full text and citations.
The best way to find out if an article is full text is
to consult the
eJournal Locator, looking under the journal name.
Can I get an article from a journal the BU system owns, but
doesn't seem to be available electronically?
Not
at present. We are exploring document delivery options that should
be available soon. Keep in mind that most college and university
libraries have an open access policy to the community, which would
allow you to read and photocopy material on the premises. The
database WorldCat
will help you identify print and electronic subscriptions held
by libraries in your geographic area.
Can
I get a book from BU's libraries?
Not at present. However,
WorldCat
will help you identify libraries across the country that might
own a particular book, including public libraries in your area.
Keep in mind that most college and university libraries have an
open access policy to the community, which would allow you to
read material on the premises.
