Jazz: America's Music Form  Jazz has been whirling around the globe for the last century, influencing (and being influenced by) world music, including classical, folk, and Afro-Cuban. Join musicologist Fred Bouchard for music-driven lectures on topics such as the wizards of the piano lounge, jazz singers, and men of the saxophone.
Program is in conjunction with the Evergreen Program. Tickets $40

Thurs Oct 29 6:30 pm Experience the music of romanticism with concert pianist Claude Hobson Campbell and tenor David Campbell, who is also the Provost at Boston University. The evening’s performance will be paired with an equally artful dinner prepared by Chef Jacques Pépin himself. This celebration of 19th century composers also marks the inauguration of Metropolitan College’s new Food & Wine Salon. Admission is $100 which includes reception, concert, dinner, wine and gratuities.

Program: Nolan Gasser GLAST, op. 12, Prelude for Brass Quintet;
Carl Nielsen Symphony No. 4, op. 29, “The Inextinguishable”;
Nolan Gasser Cosmic Reflection: A Narrated Symphony, op. 15 (World Premiere, narrated by Carey Harrison, narrator, with NASA-Goddard Space Flight Center video)

Presented by Classical Archives, this performance is part of the First Fermi International Science Symposium.

Symposium partners include the Department of Energy, NASA, the National Science Foundation, Stanford University, and Boston University. Running time is approximately two hours, with one intermission.
