Since 1992, Boston University has offered area
high school students and their teachers the opportunity to come to
the BU campus for a full day of mathematics activities. Students
learn about current topics in mathematics, including fractals, chaos,
and the Mandelbrot and Julia sets. The program includes computer
demonstrations, videos, and exquisite graphic images that highlight
the beauty and excitement of contemporary mathematics, and introduce
some intriguing new ideas.
The next Math Field Days will be held on Tuesday, October 16 and Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at the BU George Sherman Union located at 775 Commonwealth Ave.
If you are a teacher, and would like to register your students

We now have an on-line quiz to test how much participants at the Field Days actually learn (but anyone is welcome to take it). The quiz involves fractal images and animations as well as the chaos game. Click here to try the quiz.
