Technical Services Department
The Technical Services Department supports the law library's goal of service to BU Law faculty and students by assuming responsibility for:
- ordering, receiving, cataloging, and processing new titles and continuations in print, microform, and electronic formats;
- preserving and binding materials for long-term use;
- maintaining the library's online catalog system;
- providing access, through the online catalog, to selected Web materials, and to available Web versions of titles the library already owns;
- providing authority control and quality assurance for the online catalog's database of bibliographic records;
- planning and implementing special projects, such as the retrospective conversion of older library materials not previously represented in the online catalog.
