Services for Law Faculty: Alerting Services
The library produces and subscribes to the following online publications to inform faculty of new books, articles, and symposium issues. All services are accessible with your BU login name and Kerberos password. Faculty members are alerted via email when new issues are published.
The following publications include request forms for delivery of materials to your office. Forms are automatically forwarded to Corinne Griffiths (email@example.com, room 201, x3-8879).
Pappas Law Library’s Recent Acquisitions provides bibliographic information on recently cataloged materials received by the law library. For electronic titles, links are provided in the document. Faculty may request delivery of books to their offices.
Recent Articles in Legal Publications: compiled weekly by the Pappas Law Library, contains articles categorized by subject from the Current Index to Legal Periodicals (CILP), published by the University of Washington, and tables of contents with links to PDF sources. Faculty may request articles to be delivered by library staff.
Legal news from Bloomberg BNA, Intelliconnect (CCH), and Law360 are available via weekday or weekly email alerts. Your librarian liaison can assist you with setting up these alerting services.
- Bloomberg BNA email notifications: Daily and weekly alerts covering 20 major topical areas. By signing up to receive these alerts using your BU email address, you will receive highlights that easily link back to full text results accessible via your BU email login.
- Tracker News (CCH) via IntelliConnect: Provides email alerts in various topical areas covering business and finance, health law, labor and employment, tax and more.
- Law360 email alerts: Provides weekday alerts in the numerous areas of law such as appellate practice, bankruptcy, competition, contracts, corporate finance, employment, energy, environmental law, financial services, health, insurance, intellectual property, international trade, products liability, securities, technology and top general news.
RSS feeds may be used to follow blogs of interest or to receive alerts from Law360 or TrackerNews via IntelliConnect. Your librarian liaison can provide assistance in setting up and using RSS feeds.
Lexis, Westlaw and Bloomberg Law may be used to create automated searches with results delivered based on a schedule, format and method that you choose. Please contact your librarian liaison for assistance in setting up these alerts.
