Additional Services for Law School Alumni

Registered alumni have borrowing privileges at all of the University Libraries. Once you have graduated please visit the Pappas Circulation desk with your alumni card to register. Staff will update your record to reflect your new status and confirm your address and contact phone number.

If you do not already have a PIN or email in your record, we encourage you to have them added at this time. With a PIN you can check from any computer on your currently borrowed materials and renew them if needed. The email address is used instead of mailing notices, ensuring that you receive notifications of upcoming due dates in a timely manner.

Loan Periods

Most libraries, including law, circulate general materials for 30 days. Reserve, research, journals and other non-circulating materials may be used on-site only.

Electronic Resources and Word Processing

Due to licensing agreements by vendors, most electronic resources are only available to current law students, law faculty and on-site law library users. All of the computers in the reading room require a KERBEROS password for login and a further password to access restricted use e-resources. Law alumni may borrow a temporary password from the Pappas Circulation Desk.

Word processing is available in the library's third floor labs. The third floor of the law tower is reserved for the exclusive use of current BU law students and BU law alumni. All of the computers in these labs require a KERBEROS password for login. Law alumni may borrow a temporary password from the Pappas Circulation Desk.

Access

The law tower building hours are 7am to Midnight. A card swipe entry system is in place from 8pm to midnight. Alumni who need access after 8pm should contact the facilites manager at 617 358-2300 to obtain a card. We look forward to having you visit the library.
