Photocopying

Self-service photocopiers are located:

  • Adjacent to the Reading Room on the second floor of Pappas.
  • Across from the circulation desk in the Annex.

All photocopiers accept cards.

Conserving Resources: Copying 2 pages on one sheet reduces copy costs and saves paper. Most journals and reporters copy well at 85-90% reduction. Circulation staff are happy to assist you with the reduction features on the copiers. PDFs are available for downloading in electronic format for many journals through the Law Journals A-Z page. Specific pages can then be printed as needed.

Copying Tips: Be sure to copy the title page and copyright information. Noting the location and call # can save you time in relocating the original source if it is needed again.

Printing at the Law Library

Printing to Library print stations in Pappas, Third floor rooms 352 & 370, and at the Annex.

Printing from the library's computers is controlled by PHAROS print system. Print stations are located in the computer lab areas on the second and third floors and in the Annex. You will need a card to print from these stations.

After a print request is made, a pop-up box asks for a user ID. Although any ID is acceptable, we recommend using your BU login ID to avoid confusion when retrieving your requests at the print station.

Personal laptops may also be used to print to library printers located in the computer lab areas on the second and third floors and at the Annex. Laptops configured to access the Wireless Network need to add the library printers to their settings. You will need a card to print from these stations.

After a print request is made, you can retrieve your printouts at any library print station. Please see the circulation staff at Pappas if the printer does not print due to low toner or other condition. Library staff can redirect your printout to another station.

To facilitate closing the library in the evening students are requested to send print jobs to the printer in room 370 during the half hour preceding closing time.

Printing to MyPrint printers on 3rd floor and/or BU Common (Mugar Library)

All Boston University law students have a printing allotment of 1000 sheets per semester which can be used to print output from applications programs. Additional prints can be purchased for $0.12 per page. Please check the MyPrint for specific details.
