Committee Hearings
If a committee or a subcommittee holds a hearing on a bill, it may publish a record of the hearing. The record may include witnesses’ oral and written testimonies and materials submitted by interested parties or added by committee members. Hearings are used to show that certain issues were known to Congress through the hearing process. Not all hearings are published.
