Summer Access to Lexis and Westlaw for Continuing Students
Lexis: LexisNexis offers students the opportunity to extend full access privileges during the summer to August 1, 2009. To extend your password you must register for access through the Summer Access Registration link. The registration process requires you to certify a legitimate "academic purpose" over the summer to be granted full access.
Academic purposes include:
- Law review or journal research
- Working as a professor's research assistant (paid or unpaid)
- Moot court research
- Class preparation and assignments
- Unpaid internship, externship or clinic position for school credit
- Research associated with pursuing a grant or scholarship
- Bar review
If you do not register, your LexisNexis law school ID will be limited to career materials only as of June 1, 2009.
Graduating students must register for summer access to extend their IDs to August 1, 2009.

Westlaw: Westlaw will provide full access to continuing students upon registration and upon meeting certain conditions.
Legitimate uses include:
- Law review and journal work
- Summer research assistantships ("project for a professor")
- Moot court research
- Summer law school classes
- Unpaid non-profit public interest internship/externship or pro-bono work required for graduation
