Alumnae Jennifer Doran (’01) and Jennifer Serafyn (’01) Selected for Membership in BBA’s Public Interest Leadership Program
The Boston Bar Association today named BU Law alumnae Jennifer V. Doran (’01) and Jennifer A. Serafyn (’01) members of the Public Interest Leadership Program. The 12-month program, designed for lawyers who have been in practice for 10 years or less, serves as a network for members to develop professional relationships and leadership skills. Public Interest Leaders participate in meetings with community leaders and develop insight into challenges confronting local organizations. Doran and Serafyn were nominated by their employers for their commitment to public service and pro bono work.
Doran, an associate at Hinckley, Allen & Snyder LLP, interned with Health Law Advocates and served as articles editor for the American Journal of Law and Medicine during law school. Within her firm, Doran mentors new associates and presents educational seminars. She served as co-chair of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Boston Bar Association Bankruptcy Section, and is a member of the National Alumni Schools Committee.
Serafyn, an associate at Seyfarth Shaw LLP, has dedicated more than 200 pro bono hours to representing a developmentally disabled client in Federal Court. She served in two political campaigns and worked as a legislative intern to Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy II. She currently lectures at BU Law and is involved with a number of civic organizations including the BU Law Young Alumni Council, Massachusetts Democratic Party’s Judicial Council and Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus.
