Alumna Julia Conn ('06) Selected for Prestigious Fulbright FellowshipJulia Conn ('06) is one of only seven students nationwide selected to receive the 2006-2007 Fulbright-García Robles Binational Business Grant to participate in an internship and diploma program in Mexico City, Mexico. Julia will intern for the legal department of Banamex, Mexico's largest bank and a subsidiary of Citigroup. Julia will also study at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in the MBA program. Prior to graduation this past May, Julia began an LL.M. in International Trade, Investments and Arbitration at the Heidelberg Latin America Center, in Santiago, Chile. She is the first North American to participate in this competitive program—funded in part by the Max-Planck Institute for Comparative Public—which attracts attorneys from all over Latin America and Germany. She plans to return to Chile upon the completion of her fellowship to finish her degree. Julia spent her 3L fall semester studying at University of Buenos Aires Law School through BU Law's foreign exchange program. This challenging and positive experience reinforced her already strong interest in Latin American law and politics, convincing her to pursue Latin American trade and investment. She plans to focus her legal career on promoting economic development in Latin America. |
