Jason Yao joined the Gillette Company as their general legal counsel for Greater China immediately after completing his LL.M. degree at BU Law. He currently serves as Asia/Pacific counsel for the Acushnet Company, the world's largest golf products manufacturer.
"When I look back at what I experienced in the past five years, I realize that the investment of time and money in completing the LL.M. program at BU Law was very rewarding. It really provided me a wonderful opportunity to learn not only intellectual property law, but also the unparalleled experience of practicing IP law with professors and classmates from all over the world. The experiences at BU Law also help a lot in my daily job, which requires cross-region knowledge in intellectual property law."
Now based in Hong Kong, Yao looks after Acushnet's intellectual property matters in the whole Asia/Pacific region and general legal matters for Greater China. He is also the legal committee chair for Quality Brands Protection Committee, a powerful lobbying group formed by more than 160 multinationals doing business in China.
