Ni hao!Welcome to my travelogue, which chronicles my experiences in China during my semester abroad.
In the fall of 2006, I was fortunate to participate in BU Law’s study abroad program to Tsinghua University in Beijing. The campus was huge, crowded and fascinating, much like the city itself. Just outside the campus gates, bicycles and donkey carts jockeyed with taxis and Mercedes for space on the bustling streets. High-rise apartment buildings bordered labyrinthine neighborhoods of Hutong.
Besides being an incredible city to explore, Beijing was also a perfect hub from which to travel to other places in China. With the support of the fantastic faculty and administrators at Tsinghua, I was not only able to learn about Chinese law and culture, but to experience it first hand. What follows are a few highlights from my time at Tsinghua and in China.
Enjoy!
